From no regrets

passion up.

– day four – What I know now, well I realized a while ago but I am just writing about it (don’t judge me) is that, you will not stumble into a full-filled dream. In day four of this wonderful year where everybody is excited, sharing all that they are going to do and be this year (myself included), I am clear on one thing, you need more than what I call “wantivation” to fulfill your goals. Desire alone will not manifest your dreams, your book, your business…your anything.  Passion is about intention. Be deliberately committed in the pursuit of your dreams.   Want…

Don’t get weary in becoming.

I am grateful for here… where the miracle is that I still believe.  I get goose bumps thinking about the journey to here.  I am living MY dream. Why a dream you ask…because God is the conductor of my life and I agree with his choice. While perfection isn’t a consideration, contentment has found a home in my heart. The peace of God has become my constant friend and for that I am grateful. I recently received my letter from the Library of Congress with the ID number for my first book and my very first royalty check from Amazon…

Fear Not

Fear is an amazing emotion. While it does not hold the title of ” greatest emotion” such as love, its power and ability cannot be denied. Fear is often hard at work, pushing, pulling, motivating, limiting and stealing. #MyStory……  at first fear crippled me… then it paralyzed me but today I am walking out my freedom. Constantly becoming. Living, breathing, being…me. In my first book I wrote a love letter to fear, it’s a praise to God and my reminder that I did not bring myself. #Godplusnothing Dear Fear, Cutting straight to the point, our love affair is over. For many…

About April Ninth….

Courage begets courage. What took place on April Ninth was the epitome of courage in action. Lady Nakia Wright, founder and host of the 2016 Re-Powering Your Strength Symposium dared greatly to see women inspired, empowered and ready for their best days.  Over 300 women joined us for this inagural event and it gave me…

Passion Says….

I am grateful for HERE…. In less than 24 hours I will check the box on a dream that I have held in my heart for over 20 years….. the release of my first book, entitled “The P Word: Releasing the fruit of your Passion”.  This “mini read” was birthed from a yes that I gave to my friend, Dr. Nakia Wright.  She is hosting her inaugural “Re-Powering Your Strength Symposium” to uplift and recharge women for the best days of their lives and she asked me to talk about my passion for writing and share my blog.  Witnessing her courage…

I Chose.

Beloved, being unmotivated is such a waste of time. After 257 days of countless excuses, welcomed distractions, and very little writing, I AM CLEAR that once a moment has passed it is beyond retrieval. During that time I started a new job with greater demand and responsibility and also endured the loss of my grandmother, but if I am honest, of those defining moments neither kept me from writing… I just didn’t want to. If I had committed to my desire to be great, I would have been compelled to share with those who consistently ask for more or…

Through My Lens….. Today I closed a defining chapter in my professional life. As I prepare for my next BIG step, I can’t help but reflect on what I have learned over the last six years, some of which I will share… Leaders emerge from multiple levels… From the side…the bottom… never solely from the front or top. Own and celebrate your success. Take credit for your ideas. Before asserting authority you must demonstrate competence. You don’t have to be brilliant on your own.. You must be open to new ways of learning in order to be compelling. You can learn…

MediocreMan

What person sets out to be typical or average? Perhaps my network is limited but I don’t know anyone (personally) who fits that criteria. What chance will your significance have if you quit today? Are you existing or living? Are you in a rut, stagnant, stuck or are you creating the best moments of your life? Have you been lulled into positions that don’t require you to think, or create? Have you left the path of extraordinary for the hope of certainty? Is your genius present or has it escaped you? If you are not moving forward…are you falling behind? Are you a…

Motives

When searching for our passion or destiny we often hear the question “what would you do if you could not fail”, but I think the better question to ask is “what’s worth doing even if you fail”. In that answer lies the heart of your passion. That is where you will locate your drive and motivation and possibly your frustration. When we discover this place, what keeps us from moving forward? A miracle of it dropping in our lap, or the gift of MORE (more time, money and resources) or approval and validation of others? For the longest time I would wait for…

Brilliance

A notion that I ponder from time to time is living a life of insignificance. I cringe at the thought that all of me… my making, my successes and failures ..my joys, my tears, will in the end…. amount to nothing. When those irritating thoughts invade my peace, I combat them by being a better me than the day before. I want my life to count for something, make an impact and bring God glory. I am not saying that you have to lead a celebrity- like/ glamour- filled  lifestyle to be of significance (because that is a complete LIE),  I…
